A Dinner in La Jolla, CA
My name is Andres Hinojosa, the founder of Dinner with a Chef. We are a Personal Chef company located in San Diego, CA.
I had the opportunity to serve a family at this beautiful house called Sunset Villa I in La Jolla, CA this past week. Wow! what an amazing view. Right? A family was enjoying the home and time with each other during the week to prepare for the wedding of their son. It was such a privilege to serve them on such a momentous time in their lives.
I am reminded of just where I was at 3 years ago in my career. I was a Chef in the Hotel Industry. Although, there was many things I enjoyed about working in a hotel setting, I always felt like there was something missing. I wanted more than just a job. Do you ever feel like that? Like there is something inside that is missing. A real lack of fulfillment.
I remember doing research on the personal chef industry and always wondered what it would be like. Just the thought of being face to face with the guests I was serving and cooking for put a smile on my face.
To be honest with you I did not have a plan when I stepped out my own. Trust me! That is not a mistake you want to make! I went through so many trials. It was a very difficult time for me and my family.
But as I learned from my mistakes, things became easier. I started to be inspired by entrepreneurs such as; Dave Ramsey, Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki, and Patrick Bet-David. Now, don't misunderstand me, it was still very tough! But mentally and emotionally it became more evident that I was on to something.
I know what you’re thinking. These entrepreneurs have nothing to do with cooking. Well guess what? You're right! But you see, these entrepreneurs started to change my mentality. My mentality on how to serve people with your abilities and talents. How to really make a difference in people’s lives.
It felt so fulfilling to start to walk down that path. I feel like I have a true sense of purpose, and to be honest, that is priceless.
I can't imagine where I would be, if I didn't take that first step out. If I didn't educate myself and seek out advise from real entrepreneurs. I would probably even be more miserable than I felt before.
Tasting that fulfillment has me knowing that I can never go back. I count my blessings every day in being able to serve people with purpose.
I can't wait to serve and cook for my next client, and share the experience with you all again!
